Around Upolu in a Day

After breakfast on my last day in Samoa, I headed to Salelologa to get the ferry back to Upolu. My intention was to head to the airport and rent a car to tour around the island for the day because my flight wasn't leaving until almost midnight. I got a cab from the wharf to the airport in hopes of getting a rental car for the day. There was NOTHING happening at the airport and everything was closed because no flights were arriving or departing. Flights come to and go from Samoa at very strange times. Very late at night and extremely early in the morning... My cabbie took me to a resort down the road but they only had one SUV available and they wanted 350 Tala for it for the day. My car on Savai'i was only 110 so I wasn't psyched about the price. My cabbie had already offered to take me around the island for the day and drop me off at the airport, so I asked how much he would want for the day. He said 150. So I went with that. He was pretty cool and literally took me ALL over the island. It was good to not have to drive or worry about getting lost. He stopped a billion times for me to get pics!

Best part of the day was swimming in the To Sua Trench. It was pretty cool. I had a great lunch at a fale in Lalomanu at teh same place I went to the first FiaFia show.

It was a great last day in the country - we circled the entire island and I was dropped off at the airport at the end of it, as promised!
